Sister Funk 45: Lyn Collins & The Famous Flames-Baby Don't Do It

JB’ super heavy sister funk..Lyn Collins & The Famous Flames..”Baby Don’t Do it”, il pezzo è stato registrato nel 1975 su People, una delle label fondate e gestite da mr James Brown, la People è stata fondata nel 1971 ed è stata senz’altro l’etichetta di maggiore stabilità e successo  di propietà di  James Brown, fu inizialmente distribuita dalla King ed è stata poi acquistata dalla Polydor.  Lyn Collins aka the “Famale Preacher” grande cantante Soul, scoperta da James Brown all’inizio deglia anni ottanta, ha registrato il suo primo singolo all’età di quattordici anni, sono stati pubblicati a suo nome quattro album(Think (About it), 1972; Female Preacher, 1973; Check Me Out If You Don’t Know Me By Now, 1975; Mama Feel Good, 2005) e diversi 45's.

Baby Don’t Do it è un brano di puro funk nella migliore tradizione targata JB.

Mark Holder& The Positives”-Whatever’Fair” &

The Unemplyed -“Funky Thing”

Due tracce di killer deep funk, entrambe con un eccellente break di batteria, registrate nella meta’ degli anni Settanta su Cotillion Record, etichetta discografica sussidiaria della Atlantic Record attiva tra il 1968 e il 1975 e specializzata in Soul, Funk, Jazz, Gospel, Blues e R’n’B.

La prima traccia realizzata da Mark Holder & The Positive, del 1972, e’ una potente e groovy stumentale funk con una leggera influenza jazzy, incisiva sezione di fiati e killer break.

La seconda traccia e’ degli Unemplyed ed e’ intitolata “Funky Thing”,1970, il grupo sembra abbia realizzato solamente un paio 45’s tra cui ” Funky Rooster”.
